On some regular day: birthdays and chemical interactions.
12:56 AM, July 15th, so now it’s my birthday. i just turned twenty five and joined the ‘quater century club’.
I really like birthdays. They’re the best holiday because there’s a tiny piece of them that’s not culturally constructed or a corporate invention. Each of us really did come into the world on a day. On some regular day my life started and I turned up here in the midst of all this craziness that was already going on. And I think giving a day to thinking about it makes sense, but even more then that I think it’s good to give ourselves and our friends a good chance to celebrate. birthdays can make for a really good night. you meet the birthday person’s friends- parts of the extended network you belong to that you usually can’t see. If it’s your birthday you get to watch what happens when those people you know but whose chemistry and coversation you can never exactly predict interact. Even when it crashes it’s interesting. Should be fun to watch tomorrow.
I’ll let you know how it goes. For know i’m going to bed.
